Field visit to Lebanon pilot sites in Hermel and Batroun

In the framework of Water-DROP WP5 activities a tour of lebanese pilot sites, Hermel and Batroun, was organized the 6 and 7th Oct 2015, including:

  1. Field visit to the mouth of El-Jauz River, to the port of Batroun where a fishing vessel chartered by the Project was leaving to perform the foreseen data collection at sea facing the mouth of the aforementioned river. The visit was also the occasion to film the activities implemented on board by the CNRS staff.
  2.  Field visit to two aquaculture plants where Partner activities are implemented. Work carried out were shown discussed and filmed for the purpose of the Project movie. The first site is close to the Hermel Bridge and was easily reached. In the are we discussed with the PDA responsible on the possible solution for the realization of the phytodepuration system. The available area has not enough space compared to the the total volume on the trout farm. The second site is close to the Assi river springs and was not easily reachable. The area has enough space for the realization of the phytodepuration system considering the limited volume of the trout farming.
